Tea bowls again.... This time cone 8 clay and glazes, fired in oxidation.

It's been a while since I made my last tea bowl. A lot has happened in that amount of time. I was thinking about not making tea bowls anymore, because so few people even know what they are. Really though I enjoy them even if nobody else does.

My father passed away on Father's day, and I later found out that he watched my postings on the blogs that I write. This above all made my postings worth while. Thanks Dad.

I have since the last tea bowl posting, moved my studio to our place in the country, Moulton, Texas. We bought a used clay mixer and pug mill. My husband is making the clay I am throwing from scrap clay, that I pick up at the studio. I am mixing a cone 7 clay with a cone 10 clay, and firing at cone 8. So far I have been pleased with the out come. I have also learned to make my own glazes, and I am firing manually in an electric kiln. These tea bowls should look different than any of the others that I have ever made:)
